OTHER WAYS TO HELP

For more information, please call our Resource Development Department at 303.285.5227.

You may wish to help the Coalition in non-monetary ways.  If you or your group (company, university, school, church group, neighborhood association, etc.) want to support the Coalition, please let us know.  In general, you could  volunteer,  participate in a community drive or holiday program, sponsor a Coalition event or host an awareness event or fundraiser. For more infomation about these opportunties, please visit the volunteer page.

If you have non monetary items to donate, please check the list below for our greatest needs. Homeless families and individuals have a wide and growing range of needs related to establishing a household.

  • To donate large items and arrange a pickup, please call the Denver Rescue Mission at 303.297.1815, extension 1020 or 1021.
  • To donate small items (see list below), please deliver to 2111 Champa Street, Denver, Colorado 80205. Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. – 4:45p.m.

Large Items

We request all larger donations be provided to the Denver Rescue Mission.  Their storage warehouse is open to those we serve. And, they have the capacity to pick up your items.  Pickups are scheduled by zip code, weekday mornings between 9 a.m. and Noon.

Small Items

Individuals and families appreciate smaller household items, such as new or gently used clothing, toys, books, and personal hygiene items. These “in-kind” donations are eligible for tax deductions.  If you wish to claim a deduction, you must complete the official Coalition in-kind donation form and declare a value for your donated items. This value must be determined by the donor, and not the Coalition.  Forms can be obtained from the receptionist at the time you drop off your goods.

Our list of needs is always changing.  However, there are some items persons experiencing homelessness always require. For example:
• RTD bus tokens
• New adult socks
• New adult clothing
• Children’s clothing
• Children’s socks
• New undergarments for men, women and children’s
• Educational books, toys, games, and DVDs
• Children’s DVDs
• Small household items (silverware, small appliances, glassware, kitchenware)
• Bed sheets
• Pillowcases
• Pillows
• Feminine hygiene products
• Diapers
• Baby formula
• Baby bottles
