Transportation Issues & Homelessness Issue Brief This issue brief discusses several issues that highlight the intersection of housing stability and transportation policies including transportation costs and access, transit-oriented development, and transit safety. Legislative Report 2024 This annual report covers the work of the CCH Advocacy team in the 2024 session, as well as next steps and actions for the coming year under the Gold Dome. Renters' Protections Brief 2024 This report covers measures enacted since 2017 related to tenant rights issues, many of which the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless was a leader on, and others that we were actively involved in advocating for. State of Homelessness 2023 (Published 2024) This report documents the state of Homelessness in Colorado in 2023. An exact count is difficult to determine, but by assessing the tools at hand and viewing comparisons across years, we are able to see a snapshot of current levels of homelessness. Fort Lyon 10-Year Report - 2013 - 2023 Issue Brief 2023 - Health and Homelessness Colorado's Affordable Housing Crisis: It's Time for Strategic Investments This report investigates decades of state and federal policies on affordable housing, digs into the special populations most impacted by historic disinvestment, and, in its final pages, offers up clear, specific policy solutions for elected officials who want to implement policies to meaningfully address the housing crisis in Colorado. Criminalization and Homelessness Fact Sheet (2023) Debates among Denver's prospective leaders have offered possible solutions to homelessness, and criminalization and enforcement plans continue to come up. The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, with nearly 40 years of experience in the sector, can provide the necessary context to counter false narratives that criminalization and camping ban enforcement are constructive responses to homelessness. Changes to Public Health Benefits (2023) As the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency draws to a close, the end of critical benefits will cause a precarious environment for people with low incomes and place the most vulnerable groups at greater risk of health issues, food insecurity, and homelessness.
